Although I have always had a passion for guitar, I never really had the time to start learning seriously until relatively late in life at the age of 43. I was referred to Tim by a co-worker who had previously studied with him. I have been studying with him for about 2.5 years. At my first lesson I already came to realize that Tim is something special as far as guitar instruction goes. He has all the qualities I wanted in a guitar instructor:
1) An encyclopedic knowledge of all things guitar and music in general,
2) Real world performance experience,
3) Very approachable with an inspirational attitude.
I was a bit apprehensive at my first lesson since I was starting from ground zero on the guitar. Right away Tim made me feel very comfortable and we had a long discussion about my goals and how to proceed. I really can't say enough about his attitude. There is no hint of superiority here and Tim gives of his knowledge and experience freely, taking the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. His use of customized audio and video resources really allows him to address specific issues rapidly and I believe this leads to a faster pace of learning. He is very responsive to email and we often converse in between lessons.
There have been times when I have been very frustrated by the guitar, but I have always left our lessons feeling newly energized and inspired. Tim is not only my guitar instructor but he has become a very good friend as well.
As the 5 star rating says, this is "as good as it gets" in terms of guitar instruction. I feel lucky to have found Tim and I am sure you will feel the same. I cannot recommend him enough help you on your guitar journey.
